Its been a while huh?

So lets see how far I've come.

I was up to almost 100 push ups a day, 80 sit ups a day, 8 pull ups, and I was running a mile and a half in about 11 minutes. I have lost almost 20 pounds up until I pulled a muscle in my back that hasn't healed for about 3 months because of work.

I am still happy though. My metabolism has kicked on. I am floating between 136 and 139 lbs, my waist is down from 34 inches to 30 inches and my assumed body fat% is 12.8%(according to the navy fitness scale I am just in "athlete" level of body fitness).

I am proud how much I achieved in those 3-4 months I started my journey. I am looking forward to continuing it sooner than later. I still feel the fire. I am thinking I will be getting a bike for cardio soon and start working my arms out with the 50 pounds of odd weights I have.

I hope I stashed the "before" pictures somewhere.... I was planning on doing a "before" and "after" from when I was 155-160 to now.

10-2

Just recently(aka yesterday) I begun taking body fortress whey protein powder. I have also upped my solo runs to a mile and a half. 12:24 is my record for that. Also I learned I should be doing knuckle push ups. I can do 40 of those, with 10 normals on top of that. also 50 sit ups, 20 on each oblique(for a total of 90) and 4 pull ups. I may go out today and buy free weights and a heavy bag.

current weight after work and eating/drinking a ton of water : 144 lbs. 30 inches on my waist. I know I normally sit at 141ish when I just wake up so I am not concerned. :D

Going running today with scott. I am going for a mile personally.

7-1

So I went running with my brother. went about 3/4ths of a mile. I think I did pretty well. I am down to 143 pounds when I weigh myself in the morning. I have been contemplating buying a punching bag and a pull up bar. Maybe I will do that soon.

5-1

So its start of week 5, day 1.

Its technically sunday because I thought my work out buddies were more able to go on a sunday and not saturday(one had work, one was in a different state). Friday I ran a timed mile and my time was 7:59.5, today I ran an untimed mile and then some because I went about a quarter of a mile more than the mile marker.

I feel really good. my calves are tight from the run/walk(forgot to mention I walked a mile as part of my cool down process) and I am going to do some push ups, sit ups, maybe some squats, and stretch out some more before I go to bed today.

Jesse seems to have dropped out of working out this week because of "work", even though I know he has work some days at odd hours, it seems a bit odd that he started smoking, or at least that's what I believe since I caught him with cigarettes and he was trying to bum some off my dad once. He is free to make his own choices but its kinda sad since we started this fitness journey together.

current weight taken today was 146.8. Hence why I am ramping up my running distance and adding more days and more exercise to my work outs. I really want to try that "insanity" work out that my friend Heather was talking about, I have heard good things from my friend Nick.

until next time.

4-1

So did a bit of an adventure this week. after running the mile with Jesse and Scott on thursday, I went to the lake with some people. I swear we swam like 2 miles that day. I even got a charlie horse in my left calve.

So when I wake up I float around the 146 range. I also did a general body fat test. at 33" waist at my current weight, my body fat % is around 21%, an "acceptable" range. I only need to lose one more inch and then I would be considered "fit" for the weight I am at.

Today, jesse thought he had to work so it was only me and Scott running. I think I did really well, I didn't get winded at all, my ankle doesn't hurt, and I found out where the detour on the trail enters and exits at.

And my blood pressure has stayed at a normal rate. Still drinking lots of water.

I can't wait to see where I am in 6 months. I want to compare to where I was back in week one from a pic I took then. :)

week 3 day 2

Went for my run today, I can't believe how good it felt. I feel like I have my breathing and heart under control now when running. I felt like I wanted to run another mile haha.

I was a bit worried about my ankle being sore because it felt like it wanted to be sore at work. I am glad it doesn't hurt at all.

I am kinda mad about them performing construction on the running trail, it basically cuts it into a half-mile sprint. so if I run all the way from the start to where the construction is and back, its basically a bit over a mile.

Also my running buddy was having a bit of an allergy attack, had to slow it down for him.

also did some push ups and sit ups. arms are kinda woozy feeling lol.
Oh and I took my blood pressure at work again, back up to 136 systolic, but my diastolic was at like 55....

anyways, until next time.

Sunday, August 7, 2011

so it's been 3 weeks.

So it's sunday august 7th. I began my fitness journey about 3 weeks ago on july 23rd. I started out with a friend who was also interested in improving his general fitness. So here goes nothing...

I started at a weight limit of 153, my heart pressure was 144/90 at the time.

we started off with a half mile run, 1.5 mile walk, and then another half mile run.

We have consistently been doing that for the last 3 weeks, every saturday, tuesday, and thursday.

We also just added a third member to our group, he seems motivated to keep going with us, only time will tell. I want to add more people to this group, more people keeps me more motivated!

Eventually we are working our way up to a possible 1.5-2 mile run, that would be crazy! As of right now, I feel I can easily keep up my run, probably without stopping for a whole mile.

As of right now I am 148.4, I weighed myself this morning. I figure I will keep weighing myself weekly on sunday mornings after waking up to keep it consistent. Soon I am going to add free weights and general body lift exercises once I feel my heart is capable of giving the oxygen and blood to my muscles.

After tuesday's run I'll update again :)
